Wild River Canvas Print, Nordic Forest and Water Wall Art, Square Landscape Photography

A wide river runs past a solid wall of spruce and birch, the surface broken into small wind ripples all the way across, with a dry grass bank between the water and the trees and high cloud catching warm light above the treeline.

Printed and shipped from the US for US orders, and normally from Canada for Canadian orders and from Latvia, inside the EU, for European orders, so buyers in Canada and the EU should not pay customs fees.

The picture is built in three bands: moving water, dark forest, open sky. The bare white birch trunks stand out against the spruce like pencil lines, and the wind on the water gives the whole lower half a texture rather than a reflection. There is no building, no road and no boat anywhere in it.

About the forest: this is boreal forest, the belt of spruce, pine and birch that rings the top of the northern hemisphere and forms the largest forest on earth. Birch is the pioneer there. It moves into open ground first, grows fast, and the slower spruce comes up behind it, which is why the two so often stand mixed along a riverbank like this.

This is a square print, which makes it easy to place. It works on a narrow wall, above a desk or a bedside table, or as part of a grid of squares, in a living room, bedroom, hallway or office, and it makes a good gift for anyone who loves rivers and northern forests.
