Dark River Through Snowy Forest Canvas Print, Winter Woodland Photography, Nordic Wall Art

A dark river curves through deep snow between banks of snow-laden spruce, the water running open and unfrozen beneath a pale winter sky.

Printed and shipped from the US for York orders, and normally from Canada for Canadian orders and from Latvia, inside the EU, for European orders, so buyers in Canada and the EU should not pay customs fees.

Thick pillows of snow overhang both banks and curl right to the water's edge, while the current keeps its channel clear and almost black against all that white. The S-curve draws the eye into the trees, and the whole scene sits in the soft blue-grey light of a short winter day.

About the river: moving water resists freezing far longer than still water, because the current keeps mixing warmer water up from below, which is why a running river can stay open through hard frost while the lakes around it lock up with ice.

Printed in landscape format, its whites, blues and dark water suit a living room, bedroom, office or cabin, and it makes a calming winter gift for anyone who loves forests and rivers.
