Snowy Pine Forest Canvas Print, Tall Trees Winter Wall Art, Nordic Nature Photo

¨Walk into a forest just after heavy snow and the first thing you notice is not the white. It is that you have gone slightly deaf.

Printed and shipped from the US for US orders, and normally from Canada for Canadian orders and from Latvia, inside the EU, for European orders, so buyers in Canada and the EU should not pay customs fees.

That is real and it is measurable. Fresh snow is mostly air, full of tiny open spaces, and sound goes into it and does not come back. A landscape that was ordinary yesterday is genuinely quieter today, and a stand of trees carrying a full load on every branch is the quietest place you can stand outdoors. This photograph was taken in that exact hour, after the blizzard had stopped and before anything had moved.

What it gives you on a wall is rhythm. Dozens of straight trunks running from the top of the frame to the bottom, evenly spaced, each one lined with white on its windward side, with a narrow gap of pale sky between the two halves of the stand and untouched snow across the floor. From a distance it reads almost as a pattern, like a striped paper that happens to be a real place.

Colour barely enters into it. Blue grey, white and near black, which makes it one of the easiest prints to place: it will not fight anything else on the wall, and it goes with wood, metal, grey, white and green alike.

For a hallway, a stairwell, a bedroom, a home office or a cabin. A good gift for walkers, skiers and anyone who works somewhere noisy.
