Waterfall Canvas Print, River Weir Cascade Wall Art, Large Nature Photography Decor

This water is working. The straight crest and the even curtain give it away: somebody built this, a long time ago, and it has not stopped since.

Printed and shipped from the US for US orders, and normally from Canada for Canadian orders and from Latvia, inside the EU, for European orders, so buyers in Canada and the EU should not pay customs fees.

A weir is a wall laid across a river so the water has to climb over it rather than run through. Northern rivers are full of them because northern rivers were the engines: they raised the level for a mill wheel, held back enough depth to float cut timber down to the coast, measured the flow, or fed a turbine. Most of the mills are long gone and the weirs are still there, doing the one thing they were built to do, in front of nobody.

That is why it looks the way it does. A natural fall is ragged, because water finds the low places in rock. This one is the same height all the way across, so it breaks into hundreds of separate strands at once and lands in a single unbroken line of white. No waterfall in nature is that tidy.

Held long enough to let the foam soften into cream while the strands above stay separate, with the green bank above and bare wet rock to the left. Water is the most watchable thing you can hang on a wall, and this is the largest and fullest version of it in the collection.

Four sizes, up to a 24 by 36 statement piece. Good in a living room, a hallway, a bathroom, a bedroom or an office, and a fine gift for anglers, walkers, and anyone who stops on every bridge they cross.

Each canvas is signed by the photographer in the lower corner.
