River Rapids Long Exposure Canvas Print, Silky Blue Water Over Mossy Rocks, Nature Photography

White water pours over dark, moss-covered rocks and is blurred by a long exposure into silky blue and white streams, flowing from the top of the frame to the bottom.

Printed and shipped from the US for US orders, and normally from Canada for Canadian orders and from Latvia, inside the EU, for European orders, so buyers in Canada and the EU should not pay customs fees.

The slow shutter turns the rapids into soft ribbons while the wet stone in the foreground stays sharp, patched with bright green moss and a little rust orange lichen. Cool blues and greens throughout make it a restful picture of something that is anything but still.

About the technique: the effect comes from keeping the shutter open for a second or more, so the water paints itself across the frame while everything solid holds its place. In daylight that needs a dark filter over the lens and the camera braced on a tripod or a rock.

Printed in landscape format, its cool blues and greens suit a bathroom, bedroom, spa or living room, and it makes a calming gift for anyone who loves rivers and the outdoors.
