Having been a passionate photographer for a few years, I can certainly relate to the frustration of trying to decide which lens to use. On one hand, I love the feeling of having a plan and knowing exactly what type of shot I'm going for, but on the other hand, the beauty of the unknown can be so alluring!
When I'm out shooting, I find myself constantly making the choice between staying with a tried and true lens and taking a leap of faith with a new lens. I love the comfort of familiar lenses, but I also want to take risks and explore the potential of a new lens. I also struggle between the desire to capture a perfect shot and the desire to be spontaneous and let the moment unfold. I always want to get a shot that I'm proud of, but I also want to leave space for the unexpected and let myself be surprised.
Ultimately, I've come to realize that the tension between these two opposing forces—the comfort of the familiar and the beauty of the unknown—is what makes photography so special. It's the balancing act between careful planning and spontaneous discovery that makes me appreciate the craft.
I think it's important to challenge ourselves and explore new lenses and techniques. It's a journey of constantly making choices and taking risks, and I wouldn't want it any other way.
