Eagle Canvas Print, Bird of Prey Portrait Wall Art, Large Wildlife Photography Decor

An eagle portrait taken close, the head turned slightly and the hooked bill parted, showing the pale yellow skin at its base, a dark steady eye, and row upon row of pointed russet brown feathers layered down over the shoulders.

Printed and shipped from the US for US orders, and normally from Canada for Canadian orders and from Latvia, inside the EU, for European orders, so buyers in Canada and the EU should not pay customs fees.

The background is thrown into soft olive and brown, so there is nothing in the frame but the bird. The feathers are the real subject here: each one is edged in a lighter tone, so the shoulders read like tiles on a roof, and the loose feathers of the neck stand slightly proud. Printed tall at 24 by 36 inches, it is meant to be the one piece on the wall rather than part of a group.

About the bird: the soft yellow patch at the base of the bill is the cere, and the nostrils open through it. The pointed feathers running down the back of the neck are hackles, and an eagle can raise them, which is how the bird looks twice the size when it is unsettled. The eye weighs about the same as a human eye but resolves fine detail several times better, which is how a bird at height picks out something moving on the ground far below.

Its browns and golds suit a study, living room, hallway, office or bar, especially against a dark or wood panelled wall, and it makes a strong gift for falconers, birdwatchers and anyone who keeps birds of prey.
