Purple Crested Turaco Side Portrait Canvas Print, Blue and Green Bird, Southern Africa

A purple-crested turaco seen side on, its glossy blue-black crest raised, the bare red ring around its eye bright against emerald green cheeks, and its lime green breast fading into slate blue wings.

Printed and shipped from the US for US orders, and normally from Canada for Canadian orders and from Latvia, inside the EU, for European orders, so buyers in Canada and the EU should not pay customs fees.

Photographed in southern Africa, the bird holds still for a moment with one foot forward, feathers smooth and every colour clean against a soft grey background. Green, blue and that single flash of red make it one of the most striking birds on the continent.

About the bird: turacos are not strong fliers. They spend most of their time running and clambering along branches in the canopy, gliding from tree to tree rather than crossing open ground, which is why seeing one this clearly is a treat.

Printed in landscape format, it brings rich colour to a living room, study, office or child's room, and makes a memorable gift for bird lovers and anyone who has travelled in Africa.
