African Elephant Dust Bath Canvas Print, Natural Sunscreen, Exhibited Wildlife Photography

Close up on the savannah, an African elephant curls its trunk over its head and throws a spray of red earth across its back, the dust hanging in the air against a blue and cloudy sky.

Printed and shipped from the US for US orders, and normally from Canada for Canadian orders and from Latvia, inside the EU, for European orders, so buyers in Canada and the EU should not pay customs fees.

This photograph was chosen as a GuruShots Top Photo and exhibited at Valid World Hall in Barcelona in 2022.

The frame is filled with elephant: deep folds of grey skin, a short ivory tusk, the heavy curl of the trunk and the flying soil, with bright green grass and acacia trees behind. It is a private, practical moment of elephant life, caught at the instant the dust leaves the trunk.

About the animal: elephants cover themselves in dust and mud as natural sunscreen. The coating shields their skin from the sun, keeps biting insects away and helps hold in moisture on hot days.

Printed in landscape format, it makes a characterful centrepiece for a living room, study or office, and a memorable gift for anyone who loves elephants or has been on safari.
