Seagull Diving Canvas Print, Gull Wings Up Over Water Wall Art, Coastal Bird Photography

A gull tips over towards the water with both wings lifted high above its back, head tucked down behind the near wing so only the dark red bill shows, over rippled blue water lit in patches of rust and gold.

Printed and shipped from the US for US orders, and normally from Canada for Canadian orders and from Latvia, inside the EU, for European orders, so buyers in Canada and the EU should not pay customs fees.

The whole bird is caught in the one instant where it has stopped flying and started falling. Every flight feather is separate, the white is clean against the water, and the head hidden behind the wing is what gives the picture its name. The water behind is soft and out of focus, so nothing pulls your eye off the bird.

About the bird: this is a black-headed gull in winter dress, which is why the head is white rather than hooded. It does not plunge deep the way a tern does. It drops onto the surface, takes what it has spotted and lifts straight off again, which is why the wings are already up and ready before it reaches the water.

Printed in landscape format, its whites and blues suit a bedroom, bathroom, hallway, beach house or office, and it makes a good gift for birdwatchers and anyone who loves the coast.
