Goosey Goosey Gander Canvas Print, Nursery Wall Art, Goose Photography for Kids

Goosey goosey gander, whither shall I wander. Two hundred and forty years old, still the first thing most people think when a goose walks straight at them, and still the reason children are delighted and adults step backwards.

Printed and shipped from the US for US orders, and normally from Canada for Canadian orders and from Latvia, inside the EU, for European orders, so buyers in Canada and the EU should not pay customs fees.

Here is the gander, mid stride, head up, orange bill forward, one foot lifted, coming to see who you are and whether you have brought anything. Grey and white feathers, pink and orange legs, bare farmyard ground, another bird out of focus behind. Not a majestic wildlife portrait. A character.

That is what makes it good in a room where a child spends time. It is a real animal photographed at eye level rather than a cartoon, which children like far more than adults expect, and it gives them something to point at and name. The rhyme itself takes a strange turn in its second verse, as old rhymes do, so you can stop at the first one.

Warm and funny rather than cute, with no pastel and no lettering, so it will still look right on the wall when the child is twelve.

For a nursery, a child's bedroom, a playroom, a hallway or a kitchen. A good gift for a new baby, a first birthday, or a family with hens and geese of their own.

Each canvas is signed by the photographer in the lower corner.
