Barn Swallow Feeding Baby Bird Canvas Print, Mid-Air Moment Photography, Blue Sky Wall Art

Wings flung wide and tail streamers trailing, a barn swallow brakes in mid-air to push food straight into the open beak of its fledgling, waiting on a wire against a clean blue sky.

Printed and shipped from the US for US orders, and normally from Canada for Canadian orders and from Latvia, inside the EU, for European orders, so buyers in Canada and the EU should not pay customs fees.

The whole exchange lasts a fraction of a second, and this is it, frozen: beak to beak, the parent's glossy blue-black head and rust red throat pressed to the young bird's pale face, every flight feather fanned out to hold it in place. The fledgling grips the wire and leans in, still short-tailed and soft-feathered, trusting that the next meal will arrive.

About the bird: barn swallow parents can make hundreds of feeding trips a day, and they keep feeding their young on the wing for a week or more after they leave the nest, until the fledglings can catch insects for themselves.

Printed in landscape format, it brings life, colour and a touch of wonder to a living room, kitchen or child's room, and makes a heartfelt gift for parents, grandparents and anyone who loves birds.
