Sleeping Mute Swan Canvas Print, Head Tucked Under Wing, Minimalist White Bird Wall Art

A mute swan rests on dark rippled water with its long neck curled round in front of it and its head buried deep in its raised white wing feathers, as if playing hide and seek.

Printed and shipped from the US for US orders, and normally from Canada for Canadian orders and from Latvia, inside the EU, for European orders, so buyers in Canada and the EU should not pay customs fees.

The wing feathers lift like a sail, the neck forms a soft cream coloured loop across the front of the body, and the charcoal water ripples all around. With almost nothing but white and grey, it is a simple, calming picture, part bird portrait and part abstract shape.

About the bird: swans rest and sleep with their heads tucked into their back feathers to keep warm. In Britain, the Crown has claimed ownership of unmarked mute swans on open water for centuries, and the swans on the Thames are still counted each summer in a ceremony called Swan Upping.

Printed in tall portrait format and offered in the large 24 x 36 in size, it suits a bedroom, bathroom, hallway or minimalist living room, and makes a gentle gift for anyone who loves swans.
