Aerial Forest Canvas Print, Autumn Birch Treetops Wall Art, Abstract Drone Nature Photography

Looking straight down onto an autumn forest from the air, with the canopy filling the frame edge to edge in gold, olive and rust, and a single pale birch trunk showing through a gap between the crowns.

Printed and shipped from the US for US orders, and normally from Canada for Canadian orders and from Latvia, inside the EU, for European orders, so buyers in Canada and the EU should not pay customs fees.

There is no horizon and no sky in this one, which is what makes it work. Straight down, the forest stops being a landscape and becomes a pattern, one round crown after another in every shade from green to orange. It reads as an abstract from across the room and turns back into trees when you stand close, so it holds up in a spot you walk past every day.

About the colour: birch goes gold rather than red. The yellow is always in the leaf, it is just hidden under the green of the chlorophyll all summer. When the tree shuts down for winter the chlorophyll breaks down first and the yellow pigments are simply left showing. The deep reds of maple country come from a different pigment the tree has to make fresh in autumn, and birch makes very little of it, which is why a northern forest turns the colour of this photograph.

It prints well small or large. The 12 x 12 square suits a grid or a narrow wall, and the 24 x 36 works as a single piece over a sofa or a bed. Good in a living room, bedroom, hallway or office, and a fine gift for anyone who loves forests and autumn.
