Golden Eagle Portrait Canvas Print, Dark Background Bird of Prey Photography, Raptor Wall Art

A golden eagle turns its head to look back over its shoulder, the golden brown feathers of its nape catching the light against an almost black background.

Printed and shipped from the US for US orders, and normally from Canada for Canadian orders and from Latvia, inside the EU, for European orders, so buyers in Canada and the EU should not pay customs fees.

The dark surroundings strip everything away except the bird: the hooked yellow bill, the steady amber eye, and rows of layered feathers running from the head down over the shoulder in bronze, chestnut and slate. It has the stillness of a studio portrait, and the same directness.

About the bird: the golden eagle takes its name from these very feathers, the lance-shaped golden hackles on the back of the head and neck, which catch the light as the bird turns. It is one of the largest birds of prey in Europe and nests on cliffs and in old forest across northern Sweden.

Printed in landscape format and offered in the large 24 x 36 in size, it makes a powerful centrepiece for a study, hallway or office, and a memorable gift for anyone who loves birds of prey.
