Flowing Water Canvas Print, Summer Weir Wall Art, Square Bathroom Decor Photography

Most art is hung to be seen from across a room. This one is for a wall you stand next to: beside a mirror, above a basin, on a landing, in the gap by a door. Small, square, and cropped so tight that at arm's length it fills your view completely.

Printed and shipped from the US for US orders, and normally from Canada for Canadian orders and from Latvia, inside the EU, for European orders, so buyers in Canada and the EU should not pay customs fees.

At that distance the subject stops being a river. The top half is hundreds of separate golden strands pouring over the lip of the weir, the bottom half is white water boiling where they land, and the line between the two is where everything is happening. There is no horizon, no bank and no sky to tell you the scale, so it could be a metre across or ten.

People stare at moving water and always have. Put it somewhere you stand still for a minute or two each day and it does more work than a picture hung where you only glance at it.

This is the summer frame, taken when the river was low and clear and the light was coming from above, which is why the water is honey coloured rather than the grey brown it runs in spring.

Two square sizes, easy to place: on their own, in a pair, or in a grid with other squares. Suits a bathroom, a cloakroom, a hallway, a kitchen or a small bedroom.

Each canvas is signed by the photographer in the lower corner.
