Whooper Swan Canvas Print: The Opera Conductor

A whooper swan stands with its wings stretched wide in a field full of grazing Canada geese, for all the world like a conductor raising both arms before an orchestra.

Printed and shipped from the US for US orders, and normally from Canada for Canadian orders and from Latvia, inside the EU, for European orders, so buyers in Canada and the EU should not pay customs fees.

In black and white, the swan's pale wings and long neck stand out against the dark geese scattered across the grass, every bird busy with its own business while the swan holds the pose. It is a funny, perfectly timed moment, and monochrome makes the shapes even clearer.

About the birds: whooper swans and geese often feed together on stubble fields during migration, and a swan will stretch its wings like this simply to settle its feathers or claim a little space, which gives the photograph its accidental theatre.

Printed in landscape format, it brings humour and character to a living room, kitchen, hallway or office, and makes a great gift for musicians, conductors, choir singers and anyone who enjoys birds with attitude.
